Begin with the End in Mind

At the end of the day…
When the dust settles…
All of these phrases are followed by a summary statement – words that give meaning to all of the things we do until we are done.
Filling in the blanks for any one of these phrases IN THE BEGINNING is critical. Beginning with the end in mind is so critical, the late famed author Stephen R. Covey even named it as one of the seven habits of highly effective people.
Otherwise, aren’t we just blindly following the program? If we can’t describe what we’ll be left with, then how can we determine whether or not we’re doing the right things?
Purpose, articulated early in the journey, will help keep our work focused and meaningful.
