The Season of “Back To”
It’s that time of year…back to school, back to football, back to the routine. It’s the season of Back To.
You probably experience more disruption in your personal rhythm during the summer than at any other time of year. This can be beneficial for a short period of time.
After all, who doesn’t like taking some time off and feeling a little less pressure? However, a different routine can also be negative if it becomes the new, less productive normal.
For many people and organizations, the end of the summer signifies a time for increased structure. It’s a time for return to familiarity. Therefore, it is a great time for all of us to think about what we should get back to.
For instance,
If you have an annual business plan, a strategic action plan, a personal development plan…..pull it out and recommit.
If your organization lives by values, it’s a great time to assess how well you’ve adhered to them so far this year.
If you made New Year’s resolutions, take an assessment and decide if you need to realign with your own personal vision.
Take advantage of the change in rhythm to get back to all the things that you had planned to do this year. If you or your organization strayed a bit, that’s OK. There’s still time to get back on track!
